Default 2005 GTO clutch recommendations?

A friend of mine has an 05 GTO. It also happens to be in the dealership I work for. The clutch was replaced and after a few days, exploded on a 3-4 part throttle shift.

My question is this, can anyone recommend a good replacement clutch for a street driven stock GTO that is not driven hard?

Thanks for any input.

We have the drivetrain from an '04. tried the LS7 replacement LUK 04-905 base level clutch and smoked it. Recent purchase is a SPEC stage 3 and it is holding up great. It is even holding up to the turbo we put on it.

what I sent to SPEC to ask about it.
We have an LS from a 2004 GTO mated to a newer Tremec t56 Magnum. using a LUK 04-905 kit now. spins.
Making 650 FT LB w a single turbo.
want to verify Stage 3 items for that combo.
SC093 kit.
SC75S Flywheel.
Or if you have better recommendation.

Steven,

Yes, that is the correct kit and a good choice for your setup. The St3 is a workhorse and great value for the strength and capacity.
Let me know if I can answer any other specifics.

Thank you for the reply Steve, I will look into the Stage 3 clutches.
