New GTO advertisement in Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Edition....

Cop car coming down the road with GTO hidden behind a sign.

Anyone seen this or other ad's in different magazines yet?

I'm a collector of ad's but not going to spend
$7 for the Swim Suit Edition just for an ad.

Thanks

John,

Did you catch the ad that appeared in Rolling Stone Magazine last year. The issue was devoted to American icons. Naturally, the GTO was a highlighted icon, so Pontiac took the opportunity to run a two-page spread titled "Icons Don't Die." Unfortunately, the layout featured the same black GTO that has been featured in most of the promotional material so far. Why is PMD afraid of showing off some of the other, shall we say, more vibrant colors in the 2004 palate? Black wouldn't be a bad choice except that the rest of the ad is so dark, the car just sort of melds into the background. The billboard ad is the first ad, IMO, that lets the black goat stand out.

I don't know. Why does Cadillac use only silver cars? Maybe silver denotes richness, class, luxury. Black denotes stealth, darkness, mean, badass.

If your target market is a BMW driver, you market with a silver car. The joke is those who drive silver domestic sedans dream of a BMW.

At least with the new offerings from Caddy, the joke isn't AS funny anymore with the European crowd!
