Default Wheels for 74 Ventura

What size rim and tire would fit under the rear of a 1974 hatchback without scrubbing the inside of the quarters?I have a set of bfg drag radials that are 275/60/15 and was wondering if they would be to big.

Can you remove the rim and put the 275 tire up in there to get an idea?

235/60 fit without question (depending on rim backspacing). I run 295/50 on a 15X8.5 with 3.75 backspacing and DO have to lift the rear for it to fit (11'' shackle). I will be going to a 275/60 in the next week or two so i can let you know.

I had 275/60/15 on 7" rallyII. Once in a while it would rub due to weak leafsprings.

I'm running 275/60/15's on 15x7 Cragars on my Omega and they only rub when all three kids are in the back and I hit a bump. My springs have an extended shackle.

275/60 radial on a 15x8 draglite with 5.5 backspacing, never noticed and rubbing, the tires did rub a little on the quaters when they were on a 15x7 ralleye II
