70 LeMans or GTO over head light switch. door activated
I am trying to remove the overhead light switch that is activated by the driver door. When I turn the nut the switch housing rotates. I looked under and inside the dash area for a kick panel but didn't see one. How do I remove this switch without damaging it. This is part of paint preparation.

The nut should turn, and the the pin should turn freely, the wires are attached to the pin. The pin cant be seized in the nut, right?

Yes, the nut is part of the outside body of the switch and the whole assembly should just unscrew towards you.

You'll want to disconnect the wires first of course.

I got it out. The pin and nut were seized. I expected the switch to have a rear nut but none present.
