So all of that doesn't work, or all that works except headlight?

If headlights only don't work check your dimmer switch, or fuse.

A test light.

Start at the headlight sockets and work backwards until you find your problem assuming you have checked the fuse and it's okay. There's a difference between trouble shooting, and guessing and throwing parts at it that may not fix the problem. Trouble shooting zeros in on a problem and repairs it first time. Guessing and changing parts cost more in dollars and time spent.

Normal trouble spots are bad grounds, bulkhead connectors at the firewall, dimmer switches, headlight switches, and of course wiring in between all these components. If you replace all those components and they still don't work with guessing and parts changing your out a whole lot of money and the wiring is still an unknown. Your car so you can approach the problem however you want.

service manual and a wiring diagram will be good too. What about high/low beams? If both are out I would suspect ground or switch/relay problems.

Default No Headlamps

Havent had time to work on the car this weekend, but to answer some replys, all parklights work, neither hi or low beams work, and where is the fuse for the headlamps? I have not found them at the fuse block, fire wall or in line? would like to check that first...

Check the dimmer switch on the floor.

The switch is mounted with the turn signal on the column, I have another switch I will try, anyone have an easy way to fish the wires back down the column?

The best way to do this is cut the wires at the switch on top & tape the new one to the old cut wires & plull it down through the column . The wires will go throught the column sleeves , but don't pull to hard as it may come apart from the old wires. Pull it all the way through gently until you can grab it down below the column sleeve & then just plug it back in. You can also check it by just plugging it in down below before you fish it through the column so you know that it is the problem before you cut the wires on the old switch. That way your not wasteing time pulling a new one through. Also don't forget to take as much of the shrouding off the sterring column as you can so it will pull as easy as it can.

Get some twine and tie to the old wires, and pull them out with the twine following. Then tie the twine to the new wires and pull the twine back through with new wires folowing.

I use safety wire or sometimes a #14 gauge solid wire
