sway bar size
for a strictly street driven car would i see much improvement over my stock 1" front and 7/8" rear sway bars going w/ larger bars. is this over kill. or would i be better off replacing bushings on front and spending money elsewhere.

what type of car? poly sway bar bushings should be always considered and a bigger front bar will also help with handling, there is no such thing as "overkill" when it comes to improving 30-40 year old suspension with modern tires

I had my front end rebuilt using rubber bushings and the stock sway bar. I then added a 1.25-inch front bar with poly (i think) greasable bushings and did notice an improvement. I now have a stock 7/8-inch rear sway bar and new rear bushings, new shocks all around and it's even better.

car is a 69 cutlass convert i just bought, my 70 firebird is strictly drag raced, and not much experience in handling on street car. wasn't sure if original bars were enough for heavy car (another thing not used to)

My '68 El Camino has 1 3/8 bars front and rear. 7/8 is undersized in my opinion--if--you have enough front bar to go with the bigger rear bar.
