The shop rebuilding my 63 Lemans v-8 a/t tranny has asked if I can provide a pump. Is there such an item in the tranny and what does it look like. I have a parts 63 Tempest, but it's a 4 cylinder and I'm not sure that the pump is compatible with the 8 cyl. Also, how hard would it be to get one? Any help would be appreciated. I am taking the tranny off the parts car and taking it to the shop to have it scavenged. I prefer not to take it off if I can find a pump readily available. By the way, one of the reasons it was not staying in park was because the bracket that accepts the shift cable was broken. Thanks for any advice.

Pump should be the same. I would take the band in as well as the 4 cylinder band is the same and may be in better condition as its been exposed to less torque.I will try to put up a pump drawing.It would be interresting to compair it to a p/glide pump.

Augie, Do you need the entire unit that includes the pump housing and pump body? In the picture they are number 4 and 14.

I only need the pump body, that would be #14. I have the housing. Any help would be great. Thanks.
