Don't think the E-1910 is actually 850cfm.

I've read that most any of the '76-'79 Q-jets have the same flow potential. But, the E-Q-jets have less emissions restrictions.

SMI can build you one with up to 900 cfm. Apparently, the outer booster rings must be removed , from an 800, to get much over 800cfm.

Cliff says the early '70's 800cfm Buick models are some of the best pre-76 Q-jets. They don't have the APT feature, but probably have less internal emissions restrictions. Some of these can still be found for a reasonable price. Then there are the SD455 carbs, if you have deep pockets.

If you know all the tricks to rebuild it yourself, one of the 795cfm rated E-Q-jets might be a good choice. They are many years newer than any original equipment model, and are much cheaper than the E-1910. Ebay always has several for sale, used & rebuilt. The numbers are 1903, 1904, & 1906.

Lots of Ebay carbs are advertised as "like" Edelbrock #????. Then there are some that actually have the E-tags & numbers. Again, the real E-Q's are much newer than the GM rebuilds.

Thanks for the reply, I had seen a few of the E-1910's on Ebay but could not believe the pricing on used carb.
I may contact SMI today. I have a 800 Buick core that I may build.

Hi Mike,

I use a guy out here that does a great job with carb's and other high performance stuff. Larry Wells of Wells performance = 817 599 3600. He is in the process of moving his shop and may have something to help you out. The guy is a magician!
