I have a 69 Firebird (for sale!) with a 400/turbo400. On the driver side, above where the shift cable mounts, there is a 1/2 diameter round white plastic thingy with a spade connector. What is it? Its leaking and I can't figure out what it is and how to get it out. Help!

It's the kickdown switch. You have to drop the pan to get it out. There are a couple of tangs that have to be depressedin order to pull it out. There is also an electrical connector that needs to be unplugged.

Do you have to drop the valve body as well? If that's the case, then I might wipe it and shoot it with silicone to make the mofo stop leaking. I am not dropping the pan again, although I do have a drain plug now....

You can get it out from the outside , then if you are not using it just put a freeze plug in it.
