Looking for some odds and ends parts for my '72 T/A. Things like the correct coil bracket, carb solenoid, TCS switch, choke cover. I bought a Hollander Interchange guide in hopes it would show me that some of the T/A parts could be found on a Caddy or Monte Carlo or something. That was useless. How can I find the part numbers for some of these missing parts and whether they might be found on other cars. I hear some of this stuff was 1972 only which makes things nearly impossible. If I am going to chase something on ebay I want to make sure it is the correct part (and still take the risk it may not work). Any help would be appreciated.

A 67-75 (original GM) Firebird parts book would have a been a better choice for your book purchase.
I think you would be more successful looking within Pontiac,as opposed to other GM divisions. I've found that most bracketry is specific to the engine family.A TCS switch could have other GM non-Pontiac applications, but the welded on mounting brackets are different for each engine application. MOST Pontiac V-8's from 72 & 73 had similar intake brackets & hardware, but 2bbl vs 4 bbl. parts can be different. The original GM parts books can be expensive, but CD copies can be had on Ebay for around 15.00 Last edited by 2manyT/A'S; 09-04-2006 at 05:07 PM. |
