69 Head question
Ok so ive got a custom s i will be cloning into a gto. I picked up bare block/heads/crank. After running the #'s its a 69 block and heads, but the heads are #46 head which have the smaller valves. I was planing on building this motor to see about 450hp or so, at least im hoping that. but everything im seeing on peformance builds is running the bigger valve heads. My question is can i use the heads or are they not even worth messing with? If i cant get the peformance i want out of them ill problay just go with a stock rebuild on this motor as i dont think i will have enough to pick up another set of heads along with the cost of the rebuild.

If...
originality is not an issue...go with 6-X-4 heads from a '77-'78 Pontiac. Called "Super Stocker's delights"...they have big valves with screw-in studs and lend themselves well to porting. Last GOOD set of heads offered by Pontiac and still reasonable as well as plentiful. JMHO. Ron
