If it's a Norwood car it will be blue with no metallic. If it's a van nuys car it will be black

Ok, its a Van Nuys car and the tag is black so now you bring up the question, Metallic or no metallic in interior, was there a difference between plants for the blue? I need to order an interior kit also.

The VIN tag is black on a VN car because it was riveted in after the dash was painted (vs. before the dash was painted for Norwood cars).

No difference in plants for the blue. Attached image has Fisher codes. The blue paint that goes on the dash top and the little metal piece at the back of the package tray at the bottom of the back window should be a zero gloss w/ texture... called "suede".

What part of the interior do you need to paint or dye? Metal dash? Seats?

Are you sure these early VN vin tags were painted black rather than black phosphate coated? A few observations I have made with these seem to indicate the later.

They might have been coated?. I would not remove it to get it coated. I usually dust some flat black on them

The car was restored by another shop and never finished, now im going back over it and checking things to make sure their correct. The color of the body was off and not such a good blocking and paint job, so we repainted it, but the metal work he did and detail underneath is very nice. He also threw away all the glass so I don't have any rollers and parts and I think a few other parts are missing, maybe tossed. Interior was a pui when he got it but he has some original door panels just for color match, but they don't match. Just trying to figure out if the blue interior is 70 only or if 71-2 are the same shade when ordering colors. Bright blue or medium blue? Dash area is done and looks good.

70 is bright blue. 71-2 are the same and are called "dark blue". I was happy with Legendary's match for my 71 TA blue standard interior.

Really? no interior and no glass or nose. I just took apart this 73 SD and when all of those parts were off it rose up about 1 1/2"

I wouldn't remove it either. I used Eastwoods black phosphate spray paint on mine.

The front will come down, but I don't think you will see a big drop in the rear. My 70 Formula looked the same as your car at this stage, and as I hung more and more parts I kept waiting for the rear to drop. It never really did.

mine dropped a good bit with the untouched factory springs all around, here is a midway pic with nose on and some glass, and then the final ride height. It's now maybe 1/2" above stock at most in my opinion:

I've been looking for some paint that is close to black phosphate. Can you send me a link to the one you use.
