1968 steering components on a 1969
I am not having any luck finding a pitman arm for a non power steering 69 firebird. However I was told by one of the parts dealers that you can swap out all the 69 stuff for 68. Meaning putting a 68 pitman arm on with a 68 centerlink a 68 idler arm and 68 tie rod ends. Has anyone ever done this?

7806626 is the correct part number for a pitman arm on a manual steering 1969 firebird. I have a 7806616 pitman arm but it is for a power steering car and the splined hole is larger on a power steering car. I called and emailed over 20 places in the last several days and not had any.

Yes I feel I am very pitman arm worthy. I would name my next child after the person that had the correct pitman arm for me. And I am converting a bird from a SBC back to the proper Pontiac Power . Thank you.

Have you considered adding power steering? If you are, I have 3 power steering gears. Also, I changed the gearbox on one of my 69's with an 80 T/A box that had 2.5 lock-lock and it bolted right in.
