Hate to do it, but I need to downsize and shed some projects.
For sale is my 1963 Tempest coupe. $7,500. The car is located in North Yarmouth, Maine 04097. The car is a project, but a lot has been done and there are a lot of good parts here. I was going to make it a SD tribute. The body is rust free and nearly 100% straight (except lower tailpan). It also comes with a lot of extra body parts: extra hood, extra cowl panel, extra set of fenders, extra front sheetmetal, extra taillights, extra rear glass, etc. I have boxes full of trim parts and extra pieces. I have two sets of bumpers. Overview of work done/parts: Engine - comes with two 1967 400 engines. The code XV engine is the cleaner looking one pictured. It has ported 061 heads with roller rockers, Comp 270H cam and an Edelbrock intake done up to look semi-factory. Includes Edelbrock 750 carb and air cleaner. I've not run it. Don't know if it is good. The other is an XJ block (with crank) that has some 6X heads on it. I have boxes of various engine accessories (extra alternators, extra timing covers, extra water pumps, etc.). Some were already restored for use. Transmission - has a 4L80e transmission with adapter for the Pontiac bellhousing. Trans has not been rebuilt. Don't know if it needs it. Custom driveshaft with new slip yoke is already made and included. Rear - Brand new Strange Ford 9'' housing with S-series center section. Has a TruTrac differential, 3.90 gears, and (if I remember right) 31 spline axles. Front Suspension - Heidt's Mustang II based front suspension with tubular control arms, coil springs, aluminum Wilwood hubs, and rack and pinion steering. Has a 1.25'' hollow sway bar. I also welded subframe connectors into the car in the stock floor reinforcement channels. Comes with U-joints and some materials to make column to rack linkage. Rear Suspension - Satchell link (type of triangulated 4-link) rear suspension set up for coil overs. Rear wheel wells are mini-tubbed for wide rear tires. If I remember correctly, I measured that a 325mm (about 13'') wide tire would fit. Brakes - Wilwood aluminum calipers all around. 4-piston "Superlites" up front with 1.75'' pistons. Rears are 4-piston "Billet NDP" with 1.38'' pistons. Flex lines are already there, as are rear hard lines. Rotors in front are 12.6'' x 1.1'' directional-vaned rotors from a BMW M-series. Rear rotors are 11.75'' x .81'' two-piece, hat and rotor from Wilwood. A reverse-mounted Wilwood dual master cylinder with balance bar setup is adapted to the stock brake pedal to hide under the dash. I gutted and refinished the factory master cylinder with flow-through piping from the under-dash Wilwood MCs, so lines will look more factory under the hood. Fuel system - New sumped tank with Holley inline electric fuel pump, filters and pressure regulator and a mixture of braided and aluminum fuel lines running to the engine are already plumbed. I made a gutted "dummy" mechanical fuel pump to give the engine a more original look. Fuel lines run through it. Interior - I have the original front and rear bench seats, some (not sure if all) interior panels, and pieces, steering wheel, etc. All interior stuff needs to be refinished. New headliner in a box. I have two sets of rear glass, but no front windshield. Exhaust - Not fabricated, but comes with exhaust header flanges and a box of mandrel bends to fab-up the headers. Also comes with a Pypes exhaust crossover. Last edited by boodlefoof; 05-10-2026 at 10:52 PM. Reason: more information |

Also forgot to add: I have flanges, a box of mandrel bends, Pypes crossover pipe, etc., to fabricate headers and the first half of the exhaust. I also have multiple sets of bumpers. Pics here show some of the boxes of various parts. |
