Just throwing this out. Just curious how much over the nose pressures and lift are considered max for a hydraulic roller ?? I know there will be at time to calm down my car but still want performance on track....without a whole lot of maintenance. Birddogging the valve train is top of list.
![]() I know Luhn is working on some HR stuff but would like some hands on info.. Also interested in pump gas/E85 use with HR cam. Thank you

The Morel HR lifters I put in my big "Big Chebbie" are advertised to be good to 200# or so on the seat and over 500# open. Overkill for what I am doing, but if they will survive that, they shouldn't break a sweat at 140 on the seat and 360 open.

Thanks for replies...
My SR open is 980'ish....guess that answers my question?? I gather the lobe profiles will be different so maybe pressures will be different too as related to lift and ramp speeds..?? Anyone using Johnson lifers?? Just wondering.. P-Dude ...ya out there??

When I ran my 260'[email protected] Hyd roller I ran 150 seat with 405 open and at Virginia on spray, 7000 rpm thru the traps it ran perfect.
I set Butchers up the same way. I use the Beehive springs/titanium retainers as you can use less pressure with better valve control. Well Worth the extra money. Easier on parts too. ************************************************** ***************** |

Seriously? The heavy valvetrain in my hemi only needed about 650 lb. open to run 9,000 RPM.
