I do not believe in ghosts at all. I will not tell a story about it, I still refuse to believe it even happened. I took acid when I was younger but was not on acid that night.

Funny how when you are a little kid, things that can't happen do happen. The house I'm now in is free from any and all spirits, but that wasn't the case in our old house in Los Angeles. House was a large Spanish style built in 1932 along with the rest of the neighborhood. The original owners that sold to my parents moved away healthy and happy, so I can't blame anything on them.

My original bedroom was at the rear of the house and was peaceful, but I got bumped when I was five years old to the den in front of the house when my grandmother came to live with us. Things really went downhill for me - night terrors and a fear that something was out to get me. My parents would never believe in ghosts or the occult, so I was on my own. The problem was that the walk-in closet in the den was entered by a normal door, and some 12 feet back into the dark recesses were large grates from the floor to the basement and in the ceiling to the attic. Strange, and today I can only guess that they were there for some ventilation purposes. When your 5 years old and looking into blackness both below and above, it can be a scary thing.

Like any kid I would check and make sure the closet door was securely closed before going to bed. It was an uneasy feeling waking up in the morning and seeing that door open a couple of inches. Except for an unexplained fear that I had, nothing out of the ordinary happened other than the occurrence of finding the door open every so often after I had secured it the night before.

I finally was successful in convincing my parents to allow my Border Collie to stay in the house overnight to sleep with me. This is when the trouble started. It was just after midnight that the dog started to growl, and my first thought was that he heard someone outside since the houses in our neighborhood were stacked close together. Unfortunately, when I looked up at the dog that had now retreated to the top of my pillow, he was growling at the closet. I left the handling of the situation to the dog and quickly retreated under the covers. I fell back asleep with my bodyguard staring at the closet door.

About a month went by without incident, and the dog and I had worked things out with him being the protector and I the protectee. Now that I think about it, the occurences came just a little less than a month apart in that room.

The quiet of the night was broken once again by the low growl of the dog, but this time I was awake enough to hear the closet door creaking open. No more growling, but a fully freaked dog barking and bouncing around the top of the bed sometimes gaining enough courage to lunge a little towards the closet. I once again took refuge under the covers. While it seemed like an eternity, it was probably a few seconds before my dad was in the room with the light on. His reaction to being awakened by a crazy dog was what you would expect, “what in the g-d da-n h-ll is going on!” At this point the fear of the closet guest was overcome by the current fear of ignoring my dad for too long with the covers over my head. When I popped out my gaze fell on the fully open closet door. The dog was now quiet, but shaking violently by my side.

There is no way a WWII Vet short on sleep is going to put up with stories of late night ghosts and goblins. The dog was permanently dispatched outside for creating such a ruckus, and I was back on my own with no defender. For many years after, I slept under the covers. When I got a little older, I left the closet door open so the creaking wouldn’t wake me up. Sort of a different don’t-ask-don’t tell, mine was don’t-look-don’t see.

I never did attempt explaining to my wife why even today she wakes up in the morning and finds the sheet over my head. Old habits are hard to break.

Yes, when I was a baby, in an old house in Michigan that two old sisters died in...

My father told the stories many times, they were good, and kept an eye on me at night.

Stayed in a Bed & Breakfast up in Maine about 25 years ago when we went skiing at Sunday River. We were on the 3rd floor and each of the rooms shared a single bathroom at the end of the hall. In the morning I was up early and when I came out of my room there was a little boy looking out of the door across the hall - I said Hi & gave him a little wave, he didn't say anything, but watched me walk down the hall - when I came back the door was closed.

I said something to the owners when we went down for breakfast - and they looked at each other and kind of smiled.....we were the only people up there. Turns out when the house was a tenement house for factory workers around the turn of the century, the people who ran it had a son who had died in the house - never caused any trouble but he would show up every now and again.

I was about 6 and living in Mexico City. I was still too young to comprehend the seriousness that surrounded me in that particular house. All I remember before the event was consistent praying and how the house was kept lit all night with candles.

All the kids where put to sleep and were guarded by a grow up until we all fell asleep
and as far as I can tell, considered safe for the night. At that age I considered this to be 'normal' behavior. This particular night was about to be different.

I woke up in the middle of my slumber, the adults in the house were loudly praying and fear was thick in the air.

I was half asleep when I awoke. I could see shapes and shadows as the room glowed yellow red with the flickering flames. Everyone was praying there was conviction in the prayer but also fear. The floor, walls and ceiling were concrete lending itself to an eerie echo. the source of the commotion? A common kids marble, bouncing throughout the whole house on its own, tic -toc throughout all the living quarters. up and down in traveled on its own heavy prayers interrupted by the tic-toc of the marble as it traveled up and down the room. It made its way to the bathroom were someone closed the door and trapped it there. but it didn't matter it still tic-tocked with out stopping.

Fear was thick in the air, the loud prayers, the light of the candles the insistent tic-toc. My grandmother as the patriarch of the family took it on herself, bravely she grabbed a broom and a dustpan, she opened the bathroom door and scooped the bouncing marble in one swoop. quickly they opened the door leading to the street were she tossed it out of the house. The marble could be heard tic tocking outside trying to get in the now closed door. after several hours the tic-tocking grew fainter and fainter. I grew tired and fell asleep. never heard back, but then we weren't there for long after that experience.

I don't believe in ghosts at all but this experience sure made me wonder:

Mid '80's my then GF and I bought our first house, an old frame two story built in the early 1800's. It needed a lot of updating/repair but the lot alone was worth the price and I wanted to try my hand at a resto.

We had been told that the old steel hot water baseboard system was noisy when it cranked up so we got used to hearing the clanging sounds during those first cool fall nights. Then one night my GF woke me up insisting someone was in the house and coming up the stairs. We had no kids and slept with the bedroom door open. Sure enough I heard it too and it didn't sound like the usual pipe noises. It was a THUD then TAP, TAP pause then repeat. Thing was, it seemed to get louder each time, like someone coming up the stairs. I didn't have a gun nearby but if I did, it would have been in my hand. I yelled out something but got no response - the noise just went on. Just when it seemed to get really loud (close) - it stopped!! We never heard that same sound again.

About a month or so later we had a plumber in to check on the heating sytem for the winter. He was recommended by the seller and told us he had been working at the house for them and the owners before as well. He asked if we had known the elderly brother and sister who had lived there most of their lives - we hadn't. He told us the brother had died after a long illness and the sister died in her bed about six months later. I didn't think anything of this until he said: "I always wondered how, after he died, she got up and down those stairs by herself with that walker".

THUD, TAP, TAP.

I'm sure it was just the pipes - yea, just the pipes.

I don't talk about it much because most people don't understand, but I have this old farmhouse and an old barn as my shop. For over 3 years now that shop has been haunted by the rotting, vile carcass of something that once used to be good...a 65 GP. What a horrific sight: It was mercilessly stripped of it's trim and paint, huge sections of corroded metal were painfully hacked off, it's innards pulled out and stacked away in the basement, and worst of all: the engine and trans taken away, to bring another 65 Pontiac Frankenstein abomination back from the dead. As a final insult, lately it simply has just been forgotten, set aside...used only as a storage rack for all sorts of other ghastly experiments with home building materials and lawn tractors. But with October approaching, the season of evil comes alive once again...

I don’t believe in ghosts one bit, but my wife sure does. This is the only story that makes me question my opinion though.

About four months after my son was born, we went to Las Vegas where my parents lived so they could see him for the first time. Upon first sight, my son and my mom made one of those instant connections. The entire four days, the second my mom walked into the room, Jonathan would want her to come pay attention to him or something. Kind of hard to explain. Unfortunately it ended up being the only time they would spend together because a few months later my mom passed away from a sudden heart attack. We left my son with her parents while we rushed out to Vegas that night to be with my dad, etc.

Fast forward about two years and the three of us are going through some photos we found buried in a box and came across a picture of my mom, all by herself in the picture. Instantly my son exclaims “There’s Grandma! Daddy’s mommy!” Betty and I both stared at each other in disbelief. I asked him how he knew that and he just stared at the picture without an answer. I started to ask again and my wife stopped me. She just wanted to leave it alone.

Draw your own conclusions…

My first house was 35 years old. The family that lived there previously lost their son to drugs and he died in the house. The kid must have had a real temper because every door in the house had dents in it from a fist pounding on the door.

When I cracked open the drywall to replace it in the spare bedroom I found beer cans and other junk in the wall. Paneling was up there which is what I tore down and revealed the holes in the wall. Must have been his bedroom.

Fast forward three years. My daughter was born. That bedroom was empty the entire time we lived there until this point. Things started to get weird when she came home. Like the sound of a ball bearing dropping on the table and rolling every night at the same time which we could hear on her baby monitor. No explanation.

My ex wife would snore and I would find myself sleeping on the sofa from time to time. Every once in a while, a very strong presence in the room would wake me up. Flet like someone was standing there right beside me.

There is more but the real killer here is when we put the house on the market. This was back in 2003. Right away things started going bad. A pipe to the slop sink in the basement blew and flooded the room. Had to rip up the carpet. The roof started to leak. Got that fixed. Garage door opener broke and so on. It was one thing after another. Completely felt like the house was being sabotaged after it was listed.

No explanations and too much of a coincidence. Ghostly experience?? You be the judge.

I have had a similar experience. My son has never met my mother she died 4 years before he was born. One day when he was about 4 we were hanging pictures in his room of all his family. My wife and I , his aunts and uncles and his grandparents. When we hung the picture of my parents my son looked at it and said I know that lady standing with Grandpap , shes the lady who looks in my window at night. His room is on the third floor with no access without a ladder .

Also there are stories about my home in the neighborhood that arent real good. Supposedly in the past my house has been home to drug dealers , pedophiles , and a rapist........ wish I would have known all this BEFORE I signed the mortgage. The grown daughter of one of my neighbors wont even associate with my family just because we live in the house that holds so many bad memories for her. (I think she may have been one of the rapists victims).

One night in this "palace of horrors" I call home I had a police scanner on. At the time I was driving a wrecker and the scanner kind of gave you a heads up on what you were getting called for. Anyway I wake up and the scanner sounds real soft . I go to turn the volume up and the scanner isnt in its usual place. I start looking for it and I cant find it .... but I can hear it . I find it in my bedroom closet on the top shelf under a pile of blankets. Im the only one in the house that can reach that top shelf and I know for a fact I didnt put that scanner up there. I have no idea how it got up there and Ive never come up with anything to explain it away.

These statement are not halloween stories .... I have truly , honestly lived every one of them.

Our old firestation(started in 56) was a renovated church from the 18 hundreds.
There was a "trench" drain with grating over it that ran down the center between the trucks. An 8' light was on 24-7 up front center of bays.
The old guys told stories, and rarely sat there alone late nights even though we had tv/satalite, and a pop machine full for beer for .65 cents.
Of course the stories didnt bother me. As a kid, my grand parents house was haunted.
The usual. Lights on-off, doors opening, chair pulled out from the kitchen table. Nothing bad.
One night i went to the firestn around 11-12.
There where 2 back bays with radio station, kitchen and table, tv, beer machine, etc. separated from the frt of stn by an open doorway.
If you sat in the right spot can see all the way down the ctr to the overhead doors.
There was a man door on one side. No one came there except 1st guys there for calls to manually raise truck doors.
Anyway, while sipping my beer watching tv, heard someone walking up from the very front on the drainage grate(not usuall during normal activity).
After a about 15-20 steps, i leaned over to see who it was...NO ONE...and heard 3-4 more steps coming, then stopped(about 30' from where i was).
The hair on my arms and back of neck stood up.
Went up and checked the man door. Locked.
Looked all around to see if someone was mess'n with me.
Checked for any other cars outside.
Chugged my beer at left!
Didnt say anything till about a month later it happened to someone else.
The old guys laughed and said you've been inducted/welcomed by the resident night watchman.

My daughter has been a fan since a kid.
Some of the kids from school took a field trip to an old historical Indian gathering place.
Same one the "Trail of Tears" march started from this area. Was also a trappers trading post.
3 of them where hiking the trails when it was time to get back to the bus.
Came to a fork and realized didnt know which way to go.
Just as panicked started to set in, a boy in strange clothing ran up and said in broken english;
"go that way, i'll go this way", and took off.
They went the way he directed which was correct.
While the teacher was checking off names, they watched for the boy...he never showed, and everyone was accounted for.
There was only 1 bus there that day...
The 3 where like

There's a road in Barrington IL that is supposed to be haunted, and maybe it is. Cuba Road.

A little information: http://dailyabuse.typepad.com/odd_mi...oad_ghost.html

I went down all those roads a few years ago with some friends, on Halloween just to make it even better. None of us were really expecting anything, just to waste some time at 2 in the morning.

After a while of driving around, we all got out and started taking pictures in front of a cemetery (very creepy looking place too). People were using their cameras, or camera phones. At that time, I myself did not have a camera phone so I was just in the pictures. After a few pics were taken, we started to notice the air looked "glittery" when the camera flashes would go off and it even showed in the pictures. My one friend was standing by the side of the road taking pics into the darkness and suddenly said wtf was that. He thought he'd seen a car go by but as the picture was taking, his camera battery died, or so he thought. Everyone's cameras and cell phones had all shut off and when they turned them back on, every single picture was erased. However, my non camera phone had not been bothered one bit.

After that, we all piled back into my minivan and hauled out of there.

There was also some other hard to explain things that night that proceeded this event but that was the main bit.

The thing I find weird is that the supposedly "ghost car" is a late 60's GTO,which I happen to own. I would like to take the car there at night and really scare some people lol.

To this day, none of us are sure what to make of it but it has made most of us skeptics at least a little changed.

Another long one, sorry.

Work inside security at Reapers Realm haunted house attraction in Hammond, In. last 7-8 yrs.
Some back ground.

I'm a "roam'r" and "cooler".
Defuse problems.
Mostly when customers mess with actors.
Are hop'd up on som'tn(hold'm till the off duty security cops get there).
Take'm out do to fear or claustorphobia, etc.
Let maintaince know when some'tn breaks or needs attension.
Be seen, but not seen...

Start 1/2 hour before open till last customer is out.
There are hidden narrow back passage ways thruout the 3 stories for workers to go to/from unseen
VERY dark. Some cant see 3' ahead.
Everyone use's flashlights except me and another partner after spend'n so many yrs there.
Carry one, but only use it to help others.

Anyway, theres an area of the 3rd floor and basement that feels strange.
Years past, actors have quit after work'n alone. Now they have 2-3 minumum.
Number of times felt someone following close behind in the passage ways there.
Makes the hair stand up...
Last yr a hidden door(bundgee corded and only open one way against them) opened just before i reached for it...
No one else was around except an actor behind me. He said Holly sh*t!
The other guy that doesnt use a light got a pic on his cell phn of a 1' round-ish glow hang'n mid air in front of the same door a week later.

We start work'n there Friday thru Sunday night...let ya know Monday if anything happens...

Back when I as a teenager (mid 80's) we would drive Cuba Rd at night and turn the headlights off. We'd go out in my friends 64 Stang vert durring the summer. Today, Cuba Rd has a lot more homes built there.

About Us

The PY Online Forums is the largest online gathering of Pontiac enthusiasts anywhere in the world. Founded in 1991, it was also the first online forum for people to gather and talk about their Pontiacs. Since then, it has become the mecca of Pontiac technical data and knowledge that no other place can surpass.
