Default GTO Hideaway Switch details..

I thought I'd post this for reference as I had it inside a different thread.

Here are 3 detailed pics of the hideaway switch in both open and closed position.

The 1st pic is of assembled switch in closed position.

2nd pic: switch unassembled, closed.
3rd pic: switch unassembled, open.

The rubber seal in the 2nd pic has a groove about 2 mm in depth to allow vaccuum to travel to nipples (hard to see in pic). Switch is in Closed position there (Seal is on left, covering nipples 2-3). In Pic 3 Switch is in Open position (Seal is on right, covering nipples 1-2).

That rubber seal slides over 2 adjacent nipples (1-2 or 2-3) when you pull or push the switch so that the feed (2) sends vaccum to either 1 or 3, to open or close the hideaways, respectively.
