I figured I would start a catch all thread for those projects we are all working on at home (whether or not by choice)
I finally finished up installing the over the range convection microwave my wife always wanted Before: ![]() Removed the hood/fan: http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/a...l/12060337.jpg I had to cut the sides to make little ports to access the top of the microwave once it was in position, unfortunately it wasnt drywall like I thought, it was concrete and wire mesh over plywood. http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/a...l/12070277.jpg The structure was pretty weak looking, and the new micro was HEAVY, so I beefed up the structure as well as added a crossbrace to add an extra mount point that the microwave had that the hood http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/a...g?t=1355174239 I needed an outlet so I added that too, and I had to adapt the round vent stack to the rectangular vent on the micro. I also had to cut the walltile and add the wall mounting fixture http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/a...g?t=1355174265 So I patched the holes on the sides with some wood and plastered the seams http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/a...l/12090023.jpg http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/a...l/12090025.jpg And finally after a lot of sanding and paint ![]()

Nice work!
I've just finished re-doing our dining room, half-bath, and the foyer. But the one thing that I do know (from first hand experience) is to NOT let the honey-do list jar get empty. Because then you have to move and start it all over again. ![]()

Nice, yea mine isnt finished at all, I still have to work on the yard. I swear the "zeroscaping" with all rocks and cacti is such a pain, with grass I could just mow it and it would look great, with the rocks the sand accumulates and the weeds grow in the sand in between the rocks and just above the liner... I want to buy this:

I just finished a king sized bed headboard for my wife's b-day present. I made it out of spalted/wormy maple. Damn thing weighs over 200#, but she is very happy with it. Luckily we have similar tastes.

As soon as our renters move out downstairs, I am going to be remodeling the basement bathroom (my wife wants a jetted tub) and setting up one of the bedrooms down there as a master bedroom, and then turning the existing master suite on the main floor into 2 bedrooms for foster kids. Once that's done, I will be setting up a theater room in the basement.
I hate working on my house (I would much rather be in the garage), but this is the price to keep my wife from wanting to move away from my dream garage! Importsmasher

We have a third bathroom we never use, and my wife grumbles, about lack of storage. It's going to be conveted to a walk in closet, starting next week. The lower walls, floors and shower are tile. I'm going to remove the wall that creates the shower, the sink and cabinet, and all the tile work. After patching and painting the drywall as required to create a bare room, I'm going to install the wire shelving so my wife has more linin storage. This house was built in 1978, the closets are small by today's standards, or compared or my last house anyway

In the process of painting the house. Tore the gutters down and found several pieces of rotted fascia that had to be replaced. After this I will be on to installing some crown molding and painting my office. Trying to get all this stuff done now so I will have more car time in the spring!
