Bolt pattern swap.
Okay so I'm wanting to convert the front brakes on my 1966 Star Chief executive from drums to rotors. My drums are the style where the hub is connected so when I remove the drum I have to take off the hub at the same time.
I bought some wheels and tires that are going to go under the back of the car they are very big and I'm dropping off the car at a shop to get modified so they will fit. 31 x 18.5 - 15 Today I was changing out wheel cylinders and that's when I discovered the drums and hubs are one piece. For some reason I decided to take the hub and set it inside the wheels that I got for the rear and that's when I discovered the bolt pattern on the car is 5x5” and the wheels I purchased for the rear are 5x4.75" It's not a big deal for the rear because I'm going to be getting a Ford 9-in narrowed to go in the back which is going to need custom axles and I can just get the correct flange on the axles for this bolt pattern. But since I'm going to be changing the front from drums to rotors I should be able to get a different hub bolt pattern on the front as well. Are there any other Pontiacs with a smaller bolt pattern that will fit the spindles on my 66 Star Chief? |

And for those of you who said just order a new set of wheels I really don't like spending money twice if I'm going to be making future modifications that can accommodate what I currently have

Same bolt pattern as the 1LE rotors. Talk to Scarebird, he knows.

I changed my 64 Bonneville to 5x4.75 when i added my Hoppers Stoppers disc conversion. This uses a modern style slide-on hub/spindle holding the studs, which the disc slips over the top of. I can change the PCD of my front wheels simply by moving the caliper out of the way, undoing the wheel bearing retaining nut, sliding the disc and hub off, sliding a new hub and disc on.

The hubs are basic trailer style ones, which came in the kit from Hopper Stoppers. |

You should be able to get your original hubs redrilled for the other pattern.

We have ordered a few blanks to make another 4 sets.
1LE will convert to 5 on 4-3/4" bolt pattern but will need disc rims. |

When you order your custom rear axles pay the extra to get them drilled for both 4-3/4" and 5" patterns. If you're REALLY gonna be turning up the heat, consider 5/8" screw-in lug bolts too.
