Here is a pic of me beating one of those aftermarket 421sbc's. I just wish the camera would have been on the other side of the track

Front end limiters: Got 'em.

Air bags for coil springs: Got 'em.

12 way adjustable shocks: Got 'em.

What worked: NOTHING.

Johnta, no, that was sans sway bars. I ran a 10.3X for my best with a 1.4X 60'. My next trip was to New England Dragway with a factory sway bar. 1.37 60' with a 10.09 best for the day. I never touched the tune up between days.

You tell 'em I'm comin' and Hell's comin' with me, ya hear? Hell's comin' with me!

Use a floor jack so the front suspension is fully unloaded. Then you can easily adjust to the desired heigth!
Plus its easier to clone out one small jack instead of to ramps

Goatman,

I see your car is doing the "A-Body Twist". My car launches just like that. I wish I could get my car to lift both wheels equally. I see the F-Body cars seem to launch les violently than the A-body cars. Who can tell me how to eliminate the A-Body Twist? I know there is some wasted energy in all that twisting.

Got those too. Changing that will actually make the car pull to one side all the way down the track. Very dangerous!

I had my car scaled and know exactly what it likes to make the wieght even from side to side. But, at the track, it didn't like the same thing.

A dedicated rear sway bar with travel limiters in the front control arms will get rid of 99% of what is happening. A good 12 point cage will do the rest.

You tell 'em I'm comin' and Hell's comin' with me, ya hear? Hell's comin' with me!

So how much HP does it take to get the front tires off the ground a few inches in a 3800 Lb car??
Think my TA might do it if i had some skinnies and a few hundred pounds off the Front.
Goatman are we having Twisting issues ?? LOL that is a bad ass pic Daddy Like hehe.

Goatman,

I dont care what anyone says, the "A-Body twist" looks unreal in a still camera photo!

Kinda gives that image that the motor wants to rip itself out of the mounts which to me is pretty damn cool!

Ok...this was the best I could do on motor. Did not have time to test with the gas. THe car is still not performing well or responding to changes in jetting. Think I will try a TorkerII and 850 next time out. I think this was the 10.55 pass.
