not sure what protocol is on this board, but thought i'd offer up a bit of an intro before asking questions.
i'm 30, live in seattle, have a 60 catalina driving project. (389, emerald green, white roof, astro supremes, blah blah blah) also building a 31 tudor sedan that i'm hoping will be 389 powered as well. so, a few questions. i'm new to the pontiac game, so i'm looking for good parts suppliers. motor items, interior stuff, etc. the 59-60 seem to be oddball years for finding parts. can't for the life of me find a heater control valve. also gonna rebuild the motor, so i'll need rebuild items. pistons, rings, seals, etc. who have you guys used? any advice for a first time poncho owner? thanks |

Old Air Products in Texas will have a heater control valve. They had one for my 61. I'm out of town now on vacation and don't have the phone number with me. If you can't find them, I can get it when I get back on the 2nd. http://hometown.aol.com/scotth3886/i...20pont%206.jpg |

Forsakenfew,
Welcome to the boards. I live in Puyallup. There is a POCI (Pontiac Oakland Club Int'l) in the area but don't know where. Go to the links at the very top of this board and you can get the sites for them if they have one or at least a phone # or snail mail address. There is a Firebird and GTO club here also. You can find them on the link page. Northwest Ledgends GTO's and Western Washington Firebirds. There is someone down in the Vancouver, WA area who deals in full size cars. I'll see what I can dig up. Maybe we can get together and would love to see the car. My T-37 is in pieces. E-mail me off the board if you would like. [email protected] JLP

forsakenfew It depends on what you are looking for with the 59-60 years. A lot of parts interchange up through 64. Items such as body & interior parts (heater included) cam be a Bit*h to find. I have seen some heater control valves on E-rape. They went for high dollar. You might post an add on this board and other Pontiac sites for one. Good luck. I have a used one as a back up for my 60 Venturas. I assume you know the valves are inside the heater box. You may be able to by pass it with some country engineering!
