Is there a site, link or anywhere that can decipher the numbers and codes on a Hurst shifter to tell what application it is from?

I need one for my 69 Judge and don't know what I am looking for. Help!

Pete Serio just published a magnificent book on vintage Hurst shifters, invaluable to musle car enthusiasts. I can give you the correct numbers, if that is all you need. Ron

Hurst still makes rebuild kits for their shifters. They will get a little sloppy in time and the kits are great to have.

Well, I'm assuming if you talked to Pete, you already have the info I offered up. What did he not have? I have an extra '69 handle, but not real keen on getting rid of it. I'm putting an aftermarket Comp + in the RAIV car we're doing for the F.A.S.T. class, but I'd like to keep an original on hand. Let me know what you need and I'll keep my ear to the ground. Ron

Well, he basically said that there are no part numbers to identify a Hurst shifter to the vehicle manufacturer...which I understand...BUT People do have knowledge of which HURST numbers were stamped on the shifters used by manufacturers (a.k.a. What HURST numbers were used on the 69 Judge Shifter and Handle?) That I still want to know, so that when I am looking, I know which HURST number to get.

I need a complete shifter....handle, shifter body and the linkage for my 69 Judge.

Jack - Pete was helpful, absolutely...I learned a lot from him....even that he doesn't have the shifter I need

Mike E - I am not opposed to getting a new one, but I have become the restorer that I said I wasn't going to be.....in other words...I am trying to fine all genuine GM/original parts that I can!

I only asked this because I see a number of used shifters for sale on e-bay, and many of them show specific numbers and will tell you that they came off of a specific make. I have checked in my restoration books and cannot find any identifiers.

I purchased a new Hurst Comp+ from Ben Pilla Speed Shop which is one of the local shops in my area. I needed one for my 70 which originally came with it and a Muncie trans. The original was replaced with a T-10 and a Hurst shifter from a 78 T/A. They ordered The same model Comp+ with the linkage and correct mounting plate to use on the T-10. I now have a 70 Muncie trans in a recently purchased Lemans that is hooked up to a 76' 400. That has the Hurst T-shifter like the T/A' used. BTW, that Hurst cost me 360.00 two years ago.

md I went out and checked my shifter/linkage assembly that I had recently restored(rechromed/replated) by DME LLC out of Williamson,WV.My early model 69 Judge still had the "supposively" original shifter in it.The # is 3216274 and 3306126,again after 35 years,who knows?Roger
