I've seen references to swapping springs when moving from an OHC6 to a V8 and I also see folks like PY sell different springs for both applications.
What's the practical effect if I use the springs from the OHC6 with a V8 (350 or 400)? Would the front end sit lower? What would happen to the ride? Thanks, John 1969 Firebird resto...doing my part to keep PY profitable....

Any safety considerations?

Last year I picked up a '67 Lemans, an original 6-cylinder car. When I got it it had the original 6-cylinder springs. A much heavier 400 was swapped in about 3 years ago. After that time, the front end was about 2.5" too low and seemed to bottom out on every small bump. After new PY GTO springs, shocks, and total PY poly front end rebuild all is 500 times better. So far this and the front disc brake swap were the most noticable and satisfying upgrades I have done. Highly recommended!
Per my experience the weaker springs will not hold up. |

The car would sit lower and ride a bit softer.

I'm rebuilding the entire front end and I was wondering if it was worth the hassle to get the springs off my V8 parts car and use those.
Sounds like it is...... Many thanks, John 1969 Firebird resto...doing my part to keep PY profitable....
