I running a rebuilt 455, Edelbrock performer rpm set up carb (750cfm) to cam with a new Billet high performance HEI distributor from Jegs (says it produces 50,000 volt spark through 7500rpm. It has a High perf. adv curv, coil, and cap with brass terminals. My question is would I benefit more from adding a MSD super HEI kit from Jegs with a MSD 6AL box (p.98) or should I just go with a MSD 6AL box. the price is about the same, but do I need all the Super HEI stuff with my current distributor? Thank you in advance.

Sun tuned. Thanks for the info, but where is the chart you were talking about? I couldn't get it to pop up.

I would say no. However, if your dist is one of the early ones, then it most likely has the mr.gasket/moroso type weights and center cam...100% junk. Deep 6 that and go back to a set of stock weights and center cam( use the chart I so graciously made for everyone). No need to spend even more money. That is not to say the msd is not good, because it is, just not absolutely necessary.
