I'm helping a buddy fix up a few things on his 67 GTO hardtop (see my post in "Best Pontiac Stories" for details). Anyway, one of the less urgent matters is the front bumper, which has developed little bits of surface rust on the chrome. Short of replating or outright replacement, what's the best way to treat this rust?

The objective for now is just to minimize the appearance of the rust and retard further rust development. Replating, etc. can come later.

Thanks in advance.
