Greetings!
Just got a pair of repro front valence trim pieces for my 70 Judge. The "pins" on the trim fit nicely into the recesses on in the valence, but the pins do not have any threading inside and there does not appear to be anything behing the valence panel to connect them to?? Or am I just not looking hard enuf? There could possibly be some things out of alignment as the car creamed a deer before I got it. So I would not be shocked to find somethings missing or moved as a result. Anyway, what is the means of atatchment for these pieces?? They did not come with any mounting hardware.

I recommend using sections of 3/8 fuel hose wedge-cut to act as spacers under the Valence chrome to attain the best tightened alignment. Seems necessary on the 1968 Valence chrome. HIS

The 70s have a spring-like fastener that screws to the trim an pinches the valance. The studs on the trim are threaded inside not outside.

I think when I replaced mine the inside of the studs were not threaded. You should have a set of small sping steel clips and 4 hex headed screws with integral washers. The screws just self thread into the studs. I think the resto companies sell the kit for installation. Clips on PY are RPF13C and it takes 4. Doesn't come with screws.

Thanks guys! Ordered the clips from PY. Finding screws should be a non-issue. HIS-thanks for tip on using the fuel line as spacer!! From a quick test fit looks like I will need to make some minor "adjustments" and that should do the trick nicely!!

I have ran into another problem related to this topic. My "NOS" GM-yes the wrong NOS type" not only had the wrong recess for the lights but the valance trim would not fir properly either. The slots for the mounting bosses are too shallow--new chrome fits fine on the old valance--have to grind on the NOS/POS. Be sure to check for both issues if you opt for these poorly made, GM stickered repops.

The lip on the new valance is at 90 degrees to the opening. The original equipment has the lip bent down at a 30 degree angle. Had to bend the lip down to install the new mouldings. PITA-- Anybody else run into this problem?
