Power Brake Booster with Delco Stamp
Neither my '69 Judge or '70 Judge with power brakes and original brake boosters have the "Delco" name stamped on them. Was it basically hit or miss as to whether or not your car was assembled with or without it, or were boosters with the "Delco" stamp used in other years?

My original does have the stamping (70 Judge), but it is much less prominent than the current repros (which I have currently on the car). Old 1 is in storage now awaiting me spending the $$ on a rebuild & restore.

My '69 has it -- it's upside down straight below the check valve. It's not stamped very deep -- one end is barely legible. I'd take a picture, but I just sent it to get it replated.

Often when original Delco-Morraine boosters are "restored", the front "shell" is glassbeaded & buffed to a point where the DELCO script is gone or barely legible. The worse the minor pitting, the more the outer case will have to be buffed. Good reason to keep nice extra core boosters inside, properly stored, & only use quality cores for high point restorations.

BLKBRD...mine was 2nd (or 3rd week of November..always forget) in Pontiac. I was there when my mechanic replaced it and there is NO doubt it was the original. No question those nuts had not been moved for 35 years!! We also immediately noticed a difference in the way the front (engine side) seal was done. The original seal slipped over the actuater shaft and simplely presses against the face of the booster. The repro seal was integral with the booster. Much nicer design. Unfortunately required spacing the master cylinder out from the booster....would have been nice had spacers been provided by the manufacturer or year 1. Of course, this is not the only time I have been left hunting for "extra" (using that term incredibly loosely) parts by year 1. Why don't they tell us these things a head of time?? It seems to me that yr1 has out grown itself.

my 70 fremont build has it>>upside down , on check valve side. still there after restoration.
