Default Straight or Molded Shaker Drain?

If you have an original, what do you have straight or molded?

Now we're on the RIGHT TRACK!

If you have a 403 T/A,(original & unmolested) tell us if your shaker drain is molded OR straight.

There's a red 69K mile original 79 TA with 403 on eBay that has a curved one. Here's a pic from the auction.

Drain hoses were discussed on TAC. It appears the cars with CC (like the one in the above pic) came with the curved hoses.

Cool 79 T/A 403 (NO cruise control)

I don't think cruise control was a factor.
I believe ALL 403 T/A's got the BENT DRAIN HOSE!

My current 1979 403 car spent its entire life in California (and all but 1 yr in my family). It has cruise control and it has the bent drain hose.

CA designated cars were 403's, right? I know they were 78 & 79, But were they in 77 as well?

1977 is where the whole Olds motor in Firebird thing started.

As I understand it,ALL T/A's sold in California in 1977,78 & 79 came with 403 Olds with airpumps.

The 79 state 79 403 didn't require an air pump.

77 CA SE could also possibly be CAN AM. That's why I asked what motor,as they could have had a 403 in them as well.

I actually have a 77 Esprit (obviously Norwood built) with a 350 Olds/with air pump. It was sold NEW in California.I guess that's all they would let them have.

So that's what they look like. I haven't had one in 20 years. I try not to drive in the rain.
