Trying to weigh the advantages to justify the cost of purchasing an aluminum block vs IA 2. Current weight is rather heavy at 3580 lbs. with driver and taking 100 plus lbs. off to nose of a 72 Firebird would definetely be going in the right direction. Anyone running the KRE aluminum block? Did it spec out OK?
Thanks, Dwight |

Just covering bases. Remember if you buy any K&M block according to their ad (read the webpage) you have Just 10 days to find any issues for a return. |

Very good points. Who sells the aluminum IAII block?

Dwight, you really need to check the archives to review what went down with KRE/K&M and the MR1 blocks. Given their poor track record of customer service, I think a person would have to be nuts to even consider spending money with them now, but that's just me. There are KRE loyalists out there (who have yet to be screwed) that feel otherwise. Talk to everyone and decide for yourself, but remember, just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's better..."penny wise - pound foolish".

What was the final diagnosis of Cooper's IAII aluminum block that grenaded a year ago? There are pages and pages on the KRE blocks destruction, but I never read the cause of that particular IAII to come apart. TIA

I'd use the one that is track proven, reliable, and backed with customer service.

????? A, B, C are normal aftermarket performance parts statements. But I don't see a 10 day return policy.

Hmmm, according to those terms, no coverage whatsover if used for racing.
I suppose the bulk of their business is little old ladies and traveling salesman who want a wee bit more power to get out on the freeway!

I was referring to the blocks, Aluminum Vs Iron... Horses mouth, so to speak...
![]() As for who builds it, that's up to him. But Ken's Speed and Machine in Brooksville Florida, Home of the Worlds fastest Black 76, stock suspension, Drag radials with Power windows, Trans Am, is as good as any builder out there! Better?

They're out there, but you'll have to do your own warrantee research. I'm more interested in my hobby which is working on our vintage Pontiacs. Constant posting on PY to jack up my post tally does not interest me at all. IMHO.
