Default Distributor

I Have a mildly modified 455.I Rebuilt my stock HEI for it.I had a friend of mine give me a mallory 8001 that needs rebuilding,should I: 1) Stick with what i got or 2)Rebuild the mallory and run that...is there any difference?btw the mallory was never run someone just screwed up the innards.thanks
