I noticed that too about sellers not being able to give negative. Has to be a way around that. I'm sure others will chime in.

Nope. Ebay was concerned that sellers were giving buyers bad feedback in retaliation for the negative feedback they received. There is some validity to this rationale. I once got screwed over by an ebay seller and after I gave him negative feedback, he gave me bad feedback and made up this, "this guy always complains for nothing." I kid you not. I received negative feedback I didn't deserve at all.

Ebay has gone downhill FAST! Now as a seller you are basically powerless as far as feedback goes. You can't leave anything negative for any lowlife, scamming, story telling, negative feedback leaving buyer you may encounter! AND to help all the BUYERS, in the name of "internet security" and ebay's "concern" for your safety - you can ONLY pay for items with PAYPAL now. Which as you know, ebay owns and charges you to use!
I'm so glad ebay is protecting eveyone's "safety". And filling their pockets as they do it! As convenient as ebay is, I wish another company would come along and knock them off their pedistal. They need a little reality check. I'd like to leave ebay a little negative feedback! Oh wait, you can't do that.

Seller beward is the by word on e-bay these days, plus the cost continues to go up. For me, I'll leave positive feed back on reciept of same, but then I don't have any issues with negative.

You will also notice that they hide personal information, such as location of the bidders/buyers. Sellers are also allowed to be less than specific with the item location. This allows for a lot of auction "boosting" by the sellers.
I'm convinced that at least 80 percent if not more of the power sellers on there "boost" their own auctions. I say this because they have no fear of starting auctions for relatively valuable items at $1 without a Reserve price. That's taking a HUGE gamble unless you have something in place to make sure that you get the amount you are looking for? I also follow quite a few of these auctions, and notice that once a bid is made, more times than not a buyer with few if any purchases starts hitting the auction to "boost" the price....coincidence?.....I think not! In any case, very, very few good deals left to be found there, unless you have countless hours of time to watch hundreds of auction and bid in the last 2 seconds! Something else that just pisses me off about E-Bay sellers, is the REDICULOUS shipping prices most sellers want. I don't mind paying someone for a new box, some packing material, tape and a small handling charge, but sellers are frequently trying to make a LOT of money on the shipping end of their sales....FWIW......Cliff

Heck, you can't even give neutral feedback. I tried this on a carb I received that was poorly packaged and Ebay wouldn't let me.

Cliff,
There is a way to get at least a general location of eBayers if you have their ID. Use this URL and enter the ebay ID (doesnt matter if seller or not). Check the box "Show close and exact user ID matches." http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/Adv...e=h:h:fitem:US type in the security code and hit continue. |
