Default 1967 4-speed wagon on eBay?

Was on a few weeks ago, but did a few searches on completed auctions and can't find it. Did anyone happen to "watch" it and can access the info so I may have the link? Thanks!

Current person in possension bought car out of Wa. st. a while ago without a title. I happen to personally know the fellow who was legal title and the repo guy who holds the title. When he saw it on Ebay he called the guy and told him to pay for the title it's now a legal issue. Here's the story behind the car.

About 25 years ago the current title holder purchased this wagon only because it had a 428 4 speed. Way back when it was just a odd ball big boat no one cared about. Anyway he had a partner in a autobody shop and he was a big time GTO guy. He figured Jim, his partner would part it out for the engine and tranny, but before Jim could buy the wagon a fellow who rented part of the front office on the body shop bought it on payments. Hardly anything down and way too much money for the car at the time, but payments were the key! Jim was pissed that he did not get the wagon and told him you will never see the money nor the car! Well for twenty five years he was right! shortly after, the renter move out of the body shop office with car and never was seen again. Over the years a hundred times, people would remind him how he was taken on odd ball wagon and he would always say some day I gonna find that car, it will show up! Well he has since retired and gave all his unpaid titles to a repo friend he's known forever, he now lives in Montana but his kids still live here, so visits several times a year. The title is now in the hands of Repo Pete and I can buy the title since I am the one who found the car and told him about it. My problem is that I have 20 old cars most of them Pontiacs and since bought a 4 speed Tempest wagon, so I am out. Sometimes it takes twenty five years to be right! LOL

Question

Interesting ad.

The ad says "Clear" next to "title", but the ad says "no title."

Who's going to spend $5,500 on a car with no title?

Scott, The 67 Bonneville Wagon does have a title. The car was bought legally from a man named Jim in Washington, who did have the wagon registered in his name, and drove it for a number of years. He does have a title for this wagon in his name. The state of Washington verified this. He is clearing up a lein on the car that he (jim) claimed to have paid off in 1977.

I am not sure who this Repo pete is but I think it is odd and a little creepy that he called the current legal owner and threatened to take the car and in the same call offered his version of a title to the current owner for $2500. We requested him to fax us a copy of his title so we could see what title he was talking about. This was a couple of weeks ago and we still have not seen a title.

The current owner recieved the car with a legitimate bill of sale and will recieve the title after jim clears up the matter in Washington.

I am a Washington state auto dealer, have been for 13 years I have access to information on licensed cars directly thru Olympia, we have to have this to prove legal and registered on trades etc. Here's the curent info as of 08/13/2009, notice date and time stamp on the doucs right hand top. Jim Pittman owned Redmond Auto Rebuild and has the doucs to prove this. This car was never paid off period. Jim Pittman retired and gave all his unpaid titles to Repo Pete. Paid off ? where are the receipts? where is the title? Why is Redmond Auto Rebuild still legal on as of aug 13 2009? I would pay Repo Pete, he's not creepy, but he is a little crazy and if I show him this response chances are he will jump in his truck head to Colorado and snag this car he has every legal right to do so. I know Jim Pittman personally and he was teased about this car dozens of times, this car was never paid off. As I said earlier I have no personal interest in this car. But someone is not telling the truth and I can back up what I say with documents. Oops forgot to load docs. See next post

Ok here's the doc. Comment on PHS, only way to get a window sticker is to order a PHS, the window sticker is easier to read. PHS is also loaded. Also notice the title number starts with 77, in Wash the first two numbers are the last time the title changed hands 1977.

Just got off the phone with Jim Pittman he's fishing in Neah bay. The car was never paid off and Gilllette is lying and never contacted him. Repo Pete has the original title from 1977 as I said earlier. If the person who bought this car had checked with a current reg. they would have seen Redmond Auto Rebuild was legal, for that you do not need a title just a simple phone call to any DOL.

Question

1. Who is "Gillette?"

2. Whose name is the title in TODAY? Is it a Washington title?

3. You state that the car was purchased from a "man named Jim." Jim WHO?

4. Who is Jim Pittman?

5. What is Redmond Auto Rebuild and what do you mean "the car was not paid off?" Who owed payment and who was due payment? Payment for what?

6. What type of lien exists on this car?

7. JDH421: If this isn't your car, what interest do you have in acting as an agent of the seller?

8. Who is the current owner?

Gillette is registered owner, as of today legal is Redmond Auto, Wa. state title. James Gillette was the man they purchased the car from with a bill of sale. Jim Pittman was the owner of Redmond Auto Rebuild. Pittman had a body shop and a dealer license to sell used cars. Pittman sold the car on payments, example 300 down and pays of 250 a month till it is paid for, it is called inhouse financing. The lein is on the title, same as a bank, go buy a new car, bank is legal on the car until it is paid for. Don't pay bank, bank calls repo man to pop the car only in this case it took 32 years. When you pay off your car bank sends a title with a signature on it to release their interest. No pay, no title. Read my posts it explains it. Pittman never got paid so he did not give up the title to Gillette. Pittman gave the title to Repo Pete when he retired and Pete still has the tile from 1977!

1. Is his name also on the title?

2. How much is the lien?

3. How could Gillette's name be on the title if Pittman didn't sign it over? Can't be.

Richard and jdh421 are telling two different stories here. Whose is true? Sargent says Redmond Auto's name is on the title. Jdh421 says otherwise. He says Gillette's name is on the title. jdh421: since you're the seller, please post a scanned .pdf of the title.

jdh421: you didn't answer my question #7.

Look at my previous post! Registered is Gillette, legal is Redmond Auto Rebuild, Pittman owned Redmond Auto Rebuild. When you buy a new car and the bank finances the car John Doe is registered, Bank Of America is legal. Registered is liable for the vehicle, legal is on the title to protect their interest of the vehicle. Money was owed on the wagon so Redmond Auto Body was legal to protect his interest in the vehicle until it was paid off just like a bank. Balance on the car would be a really high number since inhouse finance carries a high interest rate times 32 years of unpaid balance and interest and late fees etc. I would guess over 10k easily, that why Repo Pete offered a reasonable amount of 2,500 for the title. Current owner had no business buying a car without checking the registered and legal owner it's just a simple phone call. Look at post number 13 there is a picture of current info pulled from Olympia WA.

Who 'restored' the title in 2006?
