Default My 71 (Non) Judge Convertible 455HO

Just picked this up... I'm back in the Non-GTO HO club again. Check it out, if you couldn't order a Judge ragtop after the cut-off date, I guess this was the next best thing. Numbers matching!

I'd say so in a big way! Never seen one of those 71's before quite like that. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Car was at a consignment dealer in VA. I saw it on CL and just about fell over when I saw the pics. i think I did fall over when I saw the PHS. Bench seat and Speedminder speedometer! Also has 'Special Trim' which I can't figure out.

I think that I may have figured it out, Todd . . .

According to what I can find, bucket seats were standard equipment on ALL 1971 LeMans 'verts, same as 1972s.

"SPECIAL TRIM" must then refer to the bench seat interior on that car?

Anyone else?

Thumbs up

Here's my LeMans 'vert standard bucket seat proof, courtesy of Bill Weeden's GT-37 website. Thanks, Bill!

I'm not sure what to make of that option list...The guy/gal must of been very indecisive or knew what he wanted?

GTO or LeMans with T41 and stripes, Vert with AC, Honeys with RWL, 455 HO, 4 Speed posi, formie wheel, and hood tach yes! and make it Lucy blue too....

We'll never know, but my money is on it being special ordered for the dealer principal.

WOW, Todd. 31 option '71 LeMans dual-snorkel HO T41 'vert. What a catch.
GORGEOUS car, and congrats.

Just checked, and it's in DJ's registry . . .

Wondering out loud - what the heck is that final option - "SPECIAL TRIM" for $65.29, order code "SP-"?

EDIT - while I was typing my reply, Todd "treed" me about that special trim deal, LOL.

So, what it looks like is bench was not available in convertible, except by special trim in this case!

Dan's notes indicate 17 total '71 LeMans HO 'verts, Mike. 11 sticks and 6 M40s.
No breakdown on the sticks (between the M13 and M22 cars) unfortunately.

Pretty sure Dan got his numbers from Fred Simmonds research, see attached . . .

That's what I'm thinking, Todd.

How about that trim code, my friend?

The photocopied 71 237 series trim codes are not complete.
Neither are the 70 233 series trim codes.

And . . . ?

Roger - isn't it true that ALL 1971 (and 1972, for that matter) LeMans convertibles were "Sports", and thus equipped with bucket seat and console as standard equipment?
