I'm bidding on this for the wife (we have 4 children) The only thing that I dont like is the tranny is not an Allison and the D-Maxx is downrated for the lesse transmission ? Anyway it should get decent fuel economy & I know in pickups the D-Maxx is a stump pullin runner, but this should still have plenty of grunt -

Brad,
IF the tranny is a 4L80/85E, I really won't worry about it. They're nearly as tough as the Allisons.

, I think I heard the Allison would not fit under it without lots of mods. Ford is about to discount the Econoline so GM will own the fuull size van market.

Yep, that's the story. We didn't even have Allisons in the GM test mule vans when they were developing that platform.

If that's a 4L80 trans it's pretty bulletproof. 300k on the one in my 94 and it's been used. A couple maintenance items to take care of but no issues.
