Bob, when I saw the thread title the '53 Loewy Coupe was the first car that came to mind. My dad loved that design and turned me on to it when I was very young. Compare it to the GM, Mopar, and Fords at the time and you see that it is many years ahead of its time in styling. Still attractive today.

When they were new, I thought the Challenger was better looking than the Cuda. But neither can hold a candle to the '53 Stude.

I owned a '73 TA in the late '70s and told my dad I thought it was an equally timeless body style compared to the Stude. He didn't care for the TA spats and spoilers which he thought were ugly, but he agreed the early 2nd gen Firebirds were handsome.

As to what I saw on the list, seemed they tried to find cars that had some "significance" beyond style/beauty.

Lists like that are always subjective.

I could find fault with every pick they made. But I wouldn't reject any of them if somebody was giving out gifts.

They are nice looking sports cars, but In my humble opinion, a most Beautiful cars list should always include classic designs from the '30s, such as the Model J Deusenberg, Lincoln Zephyrs, Packards, V12/V16 Cadillacs and Lasalles, any early Rolls Royce, and almost any 1957 model year American car. No '63 Riviera, '59-'60 Cadillac, '63 Grand Prix, '55 T-Bird, '66 GTO or Grand Prix(yes I know I am probably biased on this one. (More than ten, but a good list of cars that could be considered to be beautiful-even if not "sleek-or sporty" in some cases. We should start our own beautiful car thread.

Car and Driver once named the 1970-81 Camaros/Firebirds on their top 10 list; the 70-73s are IMO are right in their with the $100,000 + exotics.

nice opinion piece--- but i would have never picked an aston martin over a 70-73 t\a or a 98-02 ws6.

imo most of the cars in there were pretty lame

What a crock!! The Porsche Carrera, Mercedes 300SL, Ford GT40, & Aston Martin DB5 were not among the "MOST BEAUTIFUL" cars in the world. '63 Stingray and Dodge Challenger are good choices.

If you're looking at styling only, however, it's hard to beat the Trans-Ams in the '98-'02 era, '57 Chev Belair, '57 Ford, '57 Bonneville, mid-'50's Eldorados, & Buick Rivieras from '64-'68.

The Corvair Monza, 1st Gen Firebird, '68/;69 GTO, Studebaker's from the early to late '50's, '57 Olds, all look better than the choices mentioned in my first paragraph.

Blasphemer. The David Brown 5 Aston Martin might be the ugliest of the lot, but all are beautiful.

Same thing happened a while back when they picked the top ten "Muscle Cars", and half the cars on the list were either pony or sports cars. Those people know as much about cars as I do about the makers of the outfits they wear.

The Miura would have one of my top votes. That 275 looks like crap - the 365gtb4 is far better looking.

Clearly this is a matter of opinion. No way I woulda voted for that winner. I think a 68 falcon, 68 nova, 70 hornet, and a 70 demon are all better looking cars than the 300sl.

The 300sl has its moments, but it looks like a seriously chopped and channeled 40's car to me - I don't think it's all that. And that Swing axle in the back offers cornering attractive only to the suicidally depressed.

My opinion has always been that the 1973 Trans Am either in white with the blue decals....or buccaneer red with white interior as the most beautifully designed and color combo vehicles ever built.

The 70-73 T/A's have always been a "breath-taker" for me...

100% agree that the 70-73 T/A's should be on that list. Also, I'd nominate the 1935 Auburn Boatail speedster and 1965 Riviera as they are uniquely gorgeous.
