Is there an Excel based valve event calculator for Pontiac engines? You know, plug in your block and reciprocating assembly information for S/D compression values and also customize duration, LSA/ICL for desired valve events and overlap.

Many Thanks. Great stuff in that link.
Have been using the below for VEs. Another full page one for different compression.(too large to copy/paste) Of course, formulas are lost in pasting into non-Excel. It is a linked formula which demos changes in outputs when relevant inputs are changed. Obtained from stickies section of LS1tech.com so the compression section is LS1 specific. Wondering if there was a Pontiac version. Inputs lobe specific 0.006 0.050 0.200 Intake Duration - ID 285 222 157 Exhaust Duration - ED 281 226 153 Lobe Center Angle - LCA LSA 112 115 112 Intake Centerline - ICL 108 112 108 outputs: Intake Valve opens - IVO 34.5 -1 -29.5 BTDC (- indicates ATDC) Intake Valve closes - IVC 70.5 43 6.5 ABDC Exhaust Valve Opens - EVO 76.5 51 12.5 BBDC Exhaust Valve Closes - EVC 24.5 -5 -39.5 ATDC (- indicates BTDC) Exhaust Centerline - ECL 116 118 116 Overlap 59 -6 -69 degrees Last edited by Felix C; 03-04-2013 at 09:02 PM. |

The calculator on this site will give you timing events in conjunction with the cam specs.
