the only "good" thing about this one is the path is very close to what was wiped off the earth May 3, 1999. Many many people in this area rebuilt their homes with saferooms & tornado shelters under their garage floors.

The path it took today wiped out a bunch of neighborhoods, many of them full of big homes, also some very large businesses.

One of my cousins is in Drumright. The last I heard they were still OK. The spec in the picture is the "Storm 6" helicopter.

The only positive about this storm is that it happened during daylight so they could see it coming and shelter in place. Massage damage shown now on the news...

More Tornados are forecasted. Prayers to those affected.

Our prayers go out to the people of Moore Ok. One witness said that there was plenty of warning---that's good.

Not sure who writes Brian Williams copy, but it is very very very rare to get tornado's like this in the Southern Plains well after dark. 99% of the time, its late afternoon into the evening.

For the many stay at home moms & retirees that live in South Moore, many have safe rooms, backyard cellars, & the garage floor entry shelters. Nearly all of these shelters were put in after May 3, 1999.

Live well away from Moore. Know quite a few families in that area. Unfortunately, bad storms tend to trend through that area.

I've been watching the news from Moore. Utter devastation is the only apt description.

Ok, I misread your location and thought you'd moved to Texas.

Stay safe Bud!

I was at Ft. Sill in Lawton in 1999 when that big twister hit. I drove right by the path, actually the path crossed the freeway, as I drove to Thunder Valley. All I remember is total destruction, I'm sorry to see this happen again.
