Need Carb for Can Am
I am still looking for a quadrajet carb for my Can Am. I am told it is #17057266. Would a Rochester Carb work? Thanks, Kelly

If you contact Johnson speed warehouse they have NOS & factory rebuilt that came from GM that they bought about 15 years ago. They bought about 10,000 of them in a deal & sell them now. They are all great carbs . I bought one about 10 years ago & it was a pkug & play unit. All I had to do was adjust the idle speed & it was great. You can find them on the net. If you have a carb # they can help you out .

Why not just rebuild yours? Its easy to do and cheap. I am sure there are plenty of guys here on the Forum who can talk you thru it if you haven't done it before. Or they can help you find someone near to you to assist you hands on.

Canamman that is the one I am looking at on e-bay. Do you think it will work on Can Am (I know the seller says it will). Blubomber my mechanic has rebuilt mine but says it is worn out and plates are warped.

Rex I called Johnson and he said the only carb that he had that would work was a 7043266 from a 1973 Pontiac.

The one listed on Ebay is a nice carb. and Barry Martin is a great seller, I have bought and sold him a lot of stuff. Send him a message and make him a offer!

I had mine rebuilt by Custom Rebuilt Carburetors. http://www.customrebuiltcarbs.com/
Cost was $345.00. Looks better than new and runs incredibly well. Maybe another option. Paul~ |

All good info. The takeaway is that there are many good and reputable vendors with the specialized knowledge about Pontiacs to help you with your carb. I think you would really want to keep the correct numbers matchings style with the car. Love those Can Am's. Wish I had one.
