Default Got a surprise on Mother's Day, gonna be a grandpa

I found out on Mother's Day that my "little girl" is pregnant, and I will be a grandpa. Of course, she isn't really "little" - almost 24, and has been married and divorced already.

I am excited, but it comes with mixed feelings since her boyfriend is a douche-nozzle. I had been patiently waiting for her to come to her senses and leave him, but now they will be permanently intertwined.

It's taking a little bit to process the whole thing.

I really just want to punch him, over and over and over. Woo-sah...

But I will look forward to this new chapter of life, and will cherish the little miracle.

Take a breath, go out to the garage, if you punch him out,she will see you less. As long as your daughter and the baby are doing fine and healthy.

Congratulations, I just went through the same thing and must say the donor will most likely disappear. It's tuff watching a child not having a roll model in there life but I'm sure you can fill that void where needed. Enjoy why you can they grow up fast.

I have daughter about same age. Same boyfriend Darwin Fail thing. My biggest fear is becoming a grandpa (joke, kinda). But you are blessed and the child will be a joy. Many wonderful kids have come from wayward dads

Congratulations. I'm in a similar boat. My daughter, 23 years old, announced in February that she was pregnant. Turns out that the father, who we have yet to meet, does not want anything to do with the baby. Now he's a sperm donor. We just found out she is having a boy. I am excited to be a grandparent as I have fond memories of mine.

Thanks for the well wishes!

My daughter needs a little bit of grounding. Nothing quite like kids to make you grow up, huh?

They haven't made the formal announcement yet. But I don't have a problem putting it on the net. I don't do FB, and they don't go on PY.

Put what on Craiglist? My youth?

"For sale, my youth. Almost gone, hurry while there is some left. Most is being stored in classic cars, electric guitars, and inappropriate humor. The rest is available cheap. $200 OBO."

Grandfatherhood has officially arrived. 6 lbs 14 oz, 20" baby girl.

I am so excited to enjoy this new chapter. I'll even be excited to play dolls with the new granddaughter, and give her dolls hillbilly personas such as "Cletus" and "Daisy Mae".

Someday I will let her put bondo on one of my cars, just like her mother did when she was little.

Good one.^^ Congrats on the new family member. We have 3 so far plus one in the oven - and that's just from our oldest - so I expect more to follow. Enjoy - they really are fun.

Congratulations Squidward. Yes, you just joined a new club as I just did last year. Glad to hear her boyfriend is turning out better.

My daughter delivered a baby boy on September 15th. As I stated in an earlier post, the father is MIA. That just makes it more important for me to help raising the grandson.

Pic is from a car show two weeks after he was born. My ticket was called and I was able to pick a prize from what was left on the table. Amazing how I was no longer thinking of myself. Got a little truck/trailer with a tractor on it for the young man. I'm looking forward to taking him to car shows as I did with my kids.
