Default Door Handle Help

Need some help! I'm looking for a set of new door handles for my 73 GA but there doesn't seem to be anything out there. The closest I've found is for the F-body but the tab where the rod attaches is vertical rather than horizontal like ours. Not really looking for NOS, reproduction would be just fine. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Try motor mite aka: "HELP!" brand used to sell the correct longer version door handles

IIRC same as used on GP's

Such as a Google search using this:

motormite help! 1977 pontiac door handles

The ones your going to get from Motormite aka Help line are going to be the short ones. They don't make the long 61/4 inch ones any more. They will fit & work correctly but will be short & sit inside the indent in the door where the door handle sits. There is someone that is making the long one as they were advertised on ebay a while ago, & I even sent a message to them to double check to make sure they were 61/4 inch long & they are. Look on ebay under 1973 pontiac parts & look there they will come up. I think there were about $ 20.00 for 2 of them.

Ok so...if as Rex says the ones I ordered are too short I'm not going to use them so my next question would be, is there any way to use the F-body handle, which is the right length, and modify the rod or whatever else would be necessary to make it work? Or does anybody have a good set they would part with? I really would rather not use the handles I have now.

I might have a set. Let me check in my garage tonight and I'll get back to you.

I might have some NOS parts available in the near future. Buford is staying, as I have owned it for 22 years. If things work out, I will be the new owner of a 4 speed Black/Gold '77 Trans Am very soon.
