So how many RACERS actually own their own weather station?
This includes all RACERS (Drag Racers, Circle Track Racers. Road Race Guys, Boat Racers,
Bonneville Racers, etc. Post them up. Tom V.

I like the Kestrel 4000, been using one for 12-13 years. I'm on my second one, the first one was working intermittently so I gave it to my kid. Between the Kestrel 4000 my logbook and a Psychrometric Chart, I have all the info needed.

And a altalab weather station at the trailer....if you have ever raced in Denver you would understand why I use both...... When your pitted on the backside of the mountain in the crappiest of pit conditions known to mankind where you can't even see the track the weather can be read one way but when get down to the track it does read another...therefore you gota go in the box to change your dial so to speak.... You kinda live and die by your weather station when you get down to splitting hairs on the track. We do the same with the blower car pro mod.....tune up is done in the pit but the main jet is changed based on the info from the hand held.

I used to use a weather station, but I use Air Density Online and an internet connection now. Alcohol is more forgiving than gasoline in my experience, so it's not as critical to have up-to-the-second weather.

I will give it a few days but the point being (as Jim said) people ALSO use the Air Density On Line site too. And I was just passing on that link, Period.
The info is out there for people who can't afford the equipment being on a limited budget. Tom V. When you go from the starting line to 10,000 feet in 15 miles then the weather station doesn't do much for you. The On Board EFI system does along with a skilled Co-Driver.

FU azewipe.
Tom V. Everytime you have the slightest issue with your car/engine you come on the board and cry like a little 4 year old kid about the cost and ask for help vs fix the problem. You look like a 4 year old kid running his mouth at the track too. As Leech said, you are an Idiot.

Bracket racing, my performaire recently took a dump and i was looking to purchase something new but hate the price. Looking around at track, to see what guys using, I have noticed local racers using stations less and less. My buddy and his son, who travel and win a lot, rarely ever dig out their weather station anymore. Just observation, but I remember a few years ago seeing handheld weather stations glued to guys in the staging lanes. Maybe with more and more guys running alcohol which can be more forgiving w/ weather other than humidity swings.

My engine builder/teammate uses the Kestrel.
I usually pit near him and use his (along with eating all his food, too). K
