Help with fuel fitting type
I have a 78 Qjet on my 77 T/A. Can anyone help me verify what type of fitting is used for the fuel line and also the type of fitting where the vacuum tree screws in? I tried researching the best I could but, to be honest, all of the different style hard line fittings confuse me a bit and I haven’t gotten the hang of them yet.
I essentially want a female threaded-to-barb type fitting for the end of my factory style fuel line that leads from the pump to the carb and I’d also like to find a female-to-barb fitting to fit to the end of my vacuum tree into. Which I think is half inch NPT but I’m not positive. These are just for a temporary project of mine that I’m trying to keep inexpensive so I don’t want to buy a bunch of fittings in order to find the right one.

Fuel line is inverted flare into the front of the steel fitting on the front of the carb, 3/8 inch line. You can buy brass fittings with the 45 degree inverted flare seat on the carb end and a barb fitting on the fuel pump end.
Depending upon usage most of the rear vacuum fittings are 1/4 pipe thread, there are a few I've seen that are 3/8 inch pipe. The 1/4 inch is the most common size. Cliff (member on forum Cliff R) should be able to fix you up if you can't find what you need locally, Link: https://cliffshighperformance.com/ I see your in Ohio, Cliff's shop is in Mount Vernon Ohio. |
