Hello,
I saw this code on a frame I’m interested in. It’s supposed to be for a ‘65 GTO. Can anyone tell me what the code represents? Thank you Last edited by 19652plus2; 08-25-2025 at 10:17 PM. |

It looks embossed (raised) rather than stamped. My guess it is the p/n of that piece of the frame assembly. The frame info is generally stamped on the left side between rear wheel and bumper. P/n, assembly plant & date on the outside of the frame and VIN on the top of the frame. Refer to this GTO FORUM link.

The important frame numbers on a 64-67 Tempest Series car are stamped on the LH (drivers side) frame rail between the rear wheel and rear bumper.
Chevrolet is the same. GTO Restoration Guide has this information. |

It looks like it is a production date code to me

I have a 1965 Kansas GTO and my frame "stamp" on the outside says 06105N2 (I assume June 10 65 second shift production?), and below that it has 3864503 (the 3 is very very faint, seems like that is the digit that differs between Chevy and Pontiac and Olds during that time?). My car is a 06C trim tag (third week June (14th-20th?)), Car Card appears to be 6/21/65, and has a 6/28/65 Protect-O-Plate date.
