I have a 1995 Bonneville where the volt meter will drop once in a while to the discharge side. This normally occurs with the air conditioner on. If I see it start to happen and shut off the air, it will recover, if not, it will stall but the car will restart. Also, with the car in gear and my foot on the brake, if I crank the steering wheel hard left and right, the voltage will drop and the lights will dim but it recovers. Any ideas?

The voltage drops probably because the engine RPM is also dropping. Some mechanical load is being applied to slow the engine down, such as the power steering loading the engine when you turn. Also with the air on, the computer should compensate to keep idle speed fixed. Perhaps your idle speed control is not working correctly.

Have your charging system checked, and Load tested.
If that is ok, then you may have a issue
with your A/C compressor clutch coil drawing to many amps , its not very common, But i have seen it before, usually the A/C fuse will blow
As stated int he other post could also be the IAC motor sticking/not operating as desgined
scan for codes and see whats up
