While putting a Torker intake on my 400, I noticed that the bracket that holds the throttle cable is about an inch too short to meet up with the bolt holes on the torker intake. Anyone else face this problem. Any suggestions. Thanks

On my '77 the bracket needed to be shimmed up about 1/2 in. to align with the carb properly. I just used some steel fuel line and longer bolts to raise the bracket to it's proper location.

When I put my plate system on my TA I had the same situation. Spacer and longer bolts will cure your problems.

Its not that problem (yet) its that the other bolt hole is over an inch too far from the other one. Any ideas for that. THanks for the other part. I will probably need that one i get this figured out.

I used a bracket, throttle cable, and gas pedal from a 72 Grand Prix on my 71 GTO and everythiong mated perfectly. Yes I have the old Torker intake with an 800 spreadbore Holley setting on top of my 400.

From what I have read the old torker is not as good as the 68-72 stock intakes?

My original bracket had the same bolt spacing as the Torker. You must have the wrong bracket from your stock intake. I'd try to source another one from a factory intake.

Spend 15 bucks and get a Spectra bracket from Auto Zone, it will fit im pretty shure.

Get a Lokar cable and throttle bracket assembly.(two separate parts) You'll have to remove the assembly on the firewall where the cable passes through the firewall, remove the old cable, drill it out to 7/16, save your original clevis pin on your accelerator pedal. Throttle cable bracket is self explainatory but it does come with instructions. Abut $40 for the whole shebang. Nice set up, I'll never worry about mine again. Here's a pic.
