Has anyone replaced the front brake hard line in a 1st gen firebird with the body on frame and engine installed? How did you deal with the L-brackets?

What do you mean by 'L' brackets. I removed my front brake lines twice since I put the car (68 FB400)together and have not run into problems installing or removing the lines. Reason I removed them is I went from drum brakes to all discs with an odd ball proportioning assembly then back to a front disc setup. All used different front line fittings at the valve. GRRRRR

I haven't yet, but I will probably have to change my brake lines on my 68 with a 350. I'm in the middle of the disc brake conversion and will probably need to change my brake lines for the new proportioning valve. I'll keep you posted.

On my 67 convertible there are brackets that connect the back of the motor mount with the engine cradle. The brake line to the rt front wheel has to pass between the cradle and the bracket. The bracket has 2 bolts on the top to the motor mount and is attached to the engine cradle with the rear lower A-arm bolt.
