I want to buy a complete set (Tach too) of rally guages for my 72 Lemans. I want them to be in very good shape and function well. My problem is that pretty much everyone I found that has a set is out of driving distance. Is there anyone that offers great rally guages for a decent price. I just want to find a set that I will be happy with and not be ripped off.

1969, 1970, 1971, & early '72 GTO's & other Pontiac A-bodies used the same cluster except for '69 had 120 Speedo.
'72 Pontiac A-bodies assembled after Dec 31, 1971 reverted back to 120 speedo, but cluster had brake warning & fasten seat belt windows. GrandPrixs...For the same years, GP's had same cluster except for the font or style of the lettering is thinner on the speedo for the GP's. 90% of Rally guages listed on good ol' e-Bay as GTO, & listed with a picture are actually GrandPrix units. If you want an early "72" Rally guage set-up you should have no problem. Later '72 set-ups are harder to find, but are out there. On indash 69-72 GTO tachs, I'm a firm believer in sending originals out to be restored or in buying the repro indash unit. Appearance of the guages themselves, lenses being scratched or not, printed circut being nice, & funtionality of guages, all effect pricing.

The guy to contact might be Peter Serio at Precision Pontiac.
I'm not exactly sure what Peter specialises in but he does restore 60's GTO gauge clusters and he did an excellant job on my '66 Full Size car Tach. Like everything, its best to buy from a known and reputable supplier. Worth an e-mail [email protected] Good Luck

Handsel, I gotta go with Heybuck's recommendation. Also, I agree with the idea of buying "cores" and having them redone. I've done this mod to my 70 GTO and had Peter do some repairs for me. His work is EXCELLENT!!! and is quite a lot better than new. I can't say enough about Peter or his knowledge, but it IS nice to do business with a nice guy to boot.
Study a little on the specific coloration of the gauges as the early rallys were very slightly different in appearance than the (I think) 70-up gauges. Peter owns Precision Pontiac located in Columbus, Ohio. He can't silkscreen the "late" gauges -yet- but I hope he'll dive into this market soon. He specializes in early GTOs. Thanks guys I am definatly going to get a set and have them redone. I rally want a set with the correct seatbelt warning. I will keep looking and see if I can get a set and have them redone. I will give Pete a try when I get a set.
