With two recent hoods being offered

The TEXAS Hood sold off E-bay last week and Camaro Specialties hood did it also sell ?

What are they now going for ?, as the cars are getting real expensive.

A past post indicated 5-8K range

Hood Good condition
Two inserts
No tubes
Minor damage to the tips

I have a offer on mine in the lower part of the above stated range and since I'm not rich yet, I wanted to to know fair/reasonable value

6.5 - 8.5 K is about what a decent one is going for.

I've heard of them going over 8K, but then heard that they didn't actually sell for that. The last two on e-bay didn't make reserve, so I think there is a bit of a disconnect on what sellers think they are worth. yes they are rare, but 8.5K for a hood? (I know, in 5-10 years, that will seem like a steal!)6.5-7K seems realistic to me.

By the way, I'm looking for one, so let me know if it's for sale!

Thanks for the input. I have decided to not sell the hood to anyone, it got way too complicated ( long story short ).

I will continue to seek a 69 TA car with a fiberglass hood for a reasonable price or find one with no hood, and if that fails then who knows ...

I still have a 70 T/A and a 69 Firebird HO Automatic car to play with in the mean time...

Thanks again

I actually have a fiberglass T/A hood on my 69 "clone" car. I paid about $700 for it 10 years ago. Sounds like a steal compared to $6K+!!!

That belongs to KennyG from the CP boards. I believe he is going to a fiberglass hood..."better value". If you are interested, he's a great guy.

The new hood that I see out on eBay is a repo with steel underframe and fiberglass top. The hood scoops are separate also so they are not just molded in as others are.
I am going to Jefferson WI this weekend and will look at one if one is availible to view.

Look at what, Banshee? A complete steel repro, or the steel frame, fiberglass top?

Steel frame fiberglass top and no one had one at Jefferson to look at.
Anyone else see one this weekend at other shows.

There is currently an original painted RED with black scoops, 69 TA hood on ebay now in great shape at $5100. Guy won't ship, pickup in NJ only.
