Are most of you using hood insulation. I've heard if your hood gets too hot, it can bubble the paint. Currently I don't have any, but I'm thinking it may be a good idea. What do you guys think?

No insulation for me. I like the sound to much.

I have been wondering about that too lately. I have the older repro insulation on my 64 GTO, looks like hell, thinking about taking it out wonder if it affects the heating or cooling of the engine compartment very much?

I have been living at the doorsteps of HELL here in Florida with my 67 400 with A/C. I had aftermarket unmolded hood insulation for years, it fell apart and created more debris than it was worth on my intake manifold and valve covers. I ran without any hood insulation for nearly 7 years with no harm to my paint. However, I am going to try the correct Molded hood insulation, I expect it to hold up like todays cars insulation does.o

Completed a frameoff just before the new molded insulation came out. As soon as I saw it I removed the old pad and put in the new molded version. Looks great and no overheating and it's been 3 years.

only think I have noticed that when it rains it steams up off the hood, but no bubbles. now my wifes turbo car thats a diffrent story! the turbo gets so hot it melted the paint! but it's really not that bad, it just looks real dry up front where the turbo sits.
