Recently heard of a RA IV '70 Judge ragtop bring over $200 in a cut-throat deal, but I can't get any honest answers from those involved. Some pretty harsh dealings went down. Can't really call it a hobby any more, I guess.

It is amazing that there would be a fight over who was going to be the buyer for 200K. Will the prices continue to climb?

I would bet that there is money made on this car before the dust settles. I do believe that at least one interested party was a wealthy oil man. What's $200k to someone like that. Probably some kind of tax loophole anyway.

I heard about this same car also from a friend that was trying to get it. Didn't find out how things ended up but serious money was involved for sure...especially considering the condition it was in!
I agree with your hobby comment also. It seems that half the car ads now have the words "investment" or "collection" in them....

I agree with your agreement.[lol] Not to change the subject, but what color is your ragtop thre? I am considering changing color on my '69 to a '68 GM "Seafrost Green", which appears very similar in apperance to yours. It looks silver, until you park next to a silver car. I'm just "yellowed out" after 20 years of Mayfair Maize. The color really brings out the GM green tinted windows. Also looks good with redlines. You could e/m me @ jegstek.netscape.net, so as not to jack a post. Thanx. Ron

Don't know what's up, Scott, but haven't gotten any of your e/m. Give me your e/m address and I'll send you one and see if that works. Then you can just reply. Or call, if you like. I'm always home evenings. Got doctors and therapy most mornings now. Thanx. Ron

The same people buying high $ muscle cars must be the same folks buying those 1200 sq ft ranch homes built in 1962 in Vegas for 1.2 million. You talk about crazy prices. 2 bedroom 1 bath 800 sq ft condo in south florida for 800k. The real estate market in some cities is totally nuts.
A friend bought a house 200 yard from the beach in Destin Fl 3 years ago for 600k. He sold it last year for 1.3 million. It just again for 1.9.

I bet the same was said when you purchased your home. "He paid what?" "That house cost $11,000 new ..." or something like that.
I'll buy those two cars you have for the price you paid if you've got them 5 years or more. I was thinking you may want to start the trend of bringing prices down to less "crazy" prices! |

Just saw in Hemmings Muscle Machines
Magazine where a clone 70 Judge convertible sold for 54,500 dollars at auction. Real ones were only selling for that much 6 years ago! When you want a Judge convertible and real ones are 200K, a clone for 54K starts to sound real good! |
